Cooper's Birthday

Today, my oldest son Cooper turns 7 years old. I'm so proud of my special boy.

In some ways it seems like no time has passed since he was born, and in some ways it seems like it was a very long time ago. Our life now is so different from how it was when he was born. Fortunately, some things have remained the same. We have always stayed close as a family, through the good and bad times.

We all had dinner at Perkins (gee, this is the second time I've referenced Perkins in this blog!) Cooper had the famous "Perky Bear" pancakes, complete with chocolate chips on top.

It's hard to do a birthday party for him because his birthday usually falls right around Thanksgiving. On our recent holiday trip to see my mom and stepdad in Houston, we had a little mini party with the relatives who sang Happy Birthday and gave him presents. That hopefully will tide him over until his official birthday party, which we're not going to be able to have for another week and a half!

Cooper, Mommy loves you very much. Happy 7th.
